With its handsome compound leaves contrasting the pendulous 4-5"clusters of small, fragrant, pearly (almost translucent) white flowers this large 10-15' suckering shrub is highly decorative in early summer. The blooms are followed in fall unusual inflated seed capsules, giving it the name bladdernut. The seeds inside are edible, some sources report them to taste like pistachios!
