This beautiful, broad leafed shrub-tree grows 20-30 feet tall with an equally wide spread. Handsome all year long with lovely bronzy new growth maturing to shiny deep-green laurel-like leaves. As the chlorophyll degrades in older leaves they turn an attractive copper color and persist on the tree for months. Creamy-white, fragrant, summer flower clusters are followed by deep dark-blue fruits. Blueberry-tree is named for its wonderful blue, olive-like fruit (Greek elaia=olive); best planted away from pavement which is stained by the fruit.
