This tree may be small in size, but not in impact. Spring leaves emerge green and deeply veined, twisting at the tips as they mature. Profuse clusters of fragrant white flowers bloom for weeks in the summer, attracting pollinators of all kinds. Once the flowers fall, there appears to be a second bloom as the brilliant red, fan-like bracts are revealed.
